Horse Flies: An Encounter with a Frightful Behemoth
A first person memory details a bizarre sighting of a flying horse along a lake at sunset. The creature towers over the boat, its wings cause wind, waves nearly capsized the craft, and its fiery breath, thunderous snorts, and enormous bodily dimensions are described in vivid, if fantastical, terms. The narrator compares parts to familiar structures and notes the creature’s peculiar features and dramatic presence, warning it remains a surreal legend rather than a known animal.
