Two auto crashes injure four in area weekend

Police said two area accidents left four people injured over the weekend. Mrs Joseph Tinko and her one year old Joseph Jr were treated at Union City Hospital after a two vehicle collision on Route 6 near Union City. In a second crash near Waterford two other drivers were injured and both cars damaged with total losses. Mild weather and light rain forecast in western Pennsylvania accompanied the report.

Service resumes on P R R after weekend wrecks

Buffalo division of the Pennsylvania Railroad restored normal service after four weekend wrecks delayed trains. Incidents included a derailment near Mydetown due to a failing knuckle, another derailment at Clymer Center, and a Pennsy Salamanca branch coal derailment near Tionesta. Corry Man Pilots Plane That Rescued 40 Adrift in Pacific

Lt. Jack N. Lindsley, a Corry, Pennsylvania pilot, led a patrol bomber mission in the Pacific that rescued 40 crewmen from the Elder after the ship caught fire on March 10.
