From San Antonio dispatch United Press reports Dodd's cavalry unit is within thirty miles of Villa. Authorities weigh whether a clash will occur as pursuit continues. Funston errs toward cautious optimism, while Jarvis relays troop movements. No casualty details confirmed yet. reports vary on two forces converging.
Weather reports show widespread subzero readings with several spots dropping below 30 below. Howard Company near the city recorded 42 below but many areas logged 28 to 80 below at various times, including Meavor Pam Ht 16 below and North Corry water plant 27 below.
An Austrian woodworker employed on the Erie road, known as Mitike, fell between a freight train at Race Street crossing in Meadville today. His right leg was badly crushed and amputated shortly after, and he was taken to Spencer Hospital where doctors say he will recover despite other injuries.
