Couple Retires To Farm Home In Maine After Show Business Life
YARMOUTE Maine couple J D Reis 67 and Hazel 60 retire to Rain bow Farm a 10 room home on 20 acres built with railroad style touches including a stateroom addition with pullman curtains and a cot sound effects from a railroad. The Reis spent 30 years touring with circuses and carnivals across states Mexico Cubs and Canada. He was a show auditor later owning shows while she joined as a motorcycle stunt rider and a South Portland native ran away at 15 for the stage. They bought the property in 1949 and now raise musk melons chickens and sheep focusing on preservation of their show era memories.
