The Corry Jay Ettes held their March meeting at Mrs. John Middleton’s Marion Street home. President Mrs. William Mitchell led business, naming plans for the spring Area T meeting at Port Allegheny on March 30 with Jay cees and area wives auxiliaries. They discussed the Miss Corry Pageant in April, to be sponsored by the Corry Jaycees with Jay Ettes aid. Officers for the coming year were elected: Mrs. Lyle Hotchkiss president, Mrs. Dan McEldowney vice president, Mrs. Walter Bowen secretary, Mrs. James Jordan treasurer. State delegate will be outgoing president Mrs. William Mitchell.

The third annual Lenten Tea for the Woman’s Society of Christian Service at First Methodist drew over 100 attendees including Evangelical United Brethren guests. Highlights included the program The Shadow of the Cross, with shadow pictures and period music, directed by Mrs. McKnight and Mrs. Hotchkiss, narration by Mrs. Charles Correll, and Rev. Reggie Baker voice of Jesus. A tea with spring bouquets followed in Fellowship Hall.
Miss Bonnie Lou Vance daughter of Mr and Mrs Oscar Vance graduated from Meyer Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Buffalo New York on Saturday. She will continue nursing at Meyer Memorial Hospital in pediatrics. Attending from Corry and area were her parents her sisters Carolyn Wilma and Mrs Buddington Jackman her grandmother Mrs Fred Tabtidsan and Miss Clawrer Scouten.
Members of the Corry Grange women’s activities committee finalize plans for a Hobby and Handcraft Show and Sale at the Corry Grange Hall on Perk Street tomorrow and Friday from 1 30 to 9 p m each day. Chairwoman Mrs John Decker leads with assistants Mrs Roy Swart Mrs Eugene Powers Mrs Harold Gale Mrs Walter Rininger and Mrs Loretta Belden. Refreshments of sloppy joes cars and coffee will be available. Anyone may display or sell items with no charge. The public is invited.
Public fashion show and auction gate set for Holiday Inn South on Route 97 near Erie tomorrow at 8 p.m. Sponsor Bob Borgia will handle sale and commentary. Fashions modeled by Mrs. William Halfast and Mrs. William Eaton Jr. Door prizes and refreshments. Also notes of reunions and service plans for Hile Hayward and local residents.
