Court Eyes Destruction of Long-Collected Contraband
Erie county contraband seized in raids over the past decade, including $750 slot machines, penny marbles, gallons of whiskey beer and wine, stored in the sheriff’s courthouse cellar vaults, faces destruction under a rule to show cause granted by Judge Burton R. Laub. The petition sets hearings on March 25 and requires claimants to present at the courthouse. DA Damian McLaughlin notes the items dated back to 1944 and seeks court condemnation after years of inaction.
