Penn State track crown in doubt over athlete eligibility
About 10 000 spectators witnessed Penn State’s indoor title bid in Madison Square Garden, but an eligibility issue now looms. Norwood Gordon, a Penn State athlete from 1836, may have used up an extra year under a rare IC4A rule if his identities align, potentially altering the champion verdict after the executive committee reviews. Asa Bushnell notes the rule exists, with action to be brought to the IC4A panel. Coach Chick Werner, who has long tutored the Nittany Lions, also recently passed physicals for Navy program.
