Rawson, served from Erie and Blytheville, Ark, and may be a prisoner of war. his mother Mrs. J. Herold Anderson resides in Erie. Local classmates and relatives await word as authorities trace the disappearance amid wartime signals.
Riverside dispatch reports a 2nd Lieutenant Beaufort G Swancutt from La Crosse Wisconsin went on a shooting spree at Camp Anza Riverside killing Dorothy Dougs on Beach and Lourdine Livermore both 18, and Riverside police patrolman Arthur B Simpson. Five others wounded as officers attempt to subdue him after cards game interruption. Swancutt wounded by police fire and taken into custody.
Sgt. Lourtane Holthouse, an American engineer of a bomber, died yesterday afternoon when his plane crashed near Maxwell Iowa. He is survived by his father Halthouse and brother Solio of Clymer New York plus other relatives. The body will be returned to Clymer for burial within a few days.
State Police reported yesterday that the stolen car from Falpa Perkins at a Watt Smith Esso station was found near Mill Village. Officials said the vehicle had likely been used in an earlier incident and recovered in a burst of activity by the arresting unit.
