Two Girls and Boy Nabbed Over Stolen Beer Case

City police in two patrol cars stopped a group of three youths on Pennsylvania avenue around 1 a.m. Two girls and a 17 year old boy faced theft charges after a burglary at H H Hammond Beverage at 246 East Main street was linked to the trio. About six cases of beer were stolen and recovered along the railroad tracks. Prosecutions will go to Erie County juvenile officials.

Late License Tags Not Big Problem

Alderman Norbert Bachomer said Corry residents who sent license plate renewals to the Department of Revenue have not yet received plates. He has heard numerous calls and contacted officials who suggest the delay is due to the department not receiving the plates. He cautions there is no real cause for alarm though the new plate display timing may be affected.

Officer Fails To Show Case Tossed Out After Key Loss

A city police hearing was dismissed for lack of evidence when Officer Dana Scoutén failed to appear before District Justice Porter Auer. Auer waited for nearly half an hour and tried to contact the station as a two car crash involving Jean Scouten was under review outside First Methodist Church. The department had a written notice, and Police Chief Charles Sutton warned Scoutén to provide a believable account.

Rights Denied Prompt New Hearings For Corry Burglary Trio

Three Corry men facing 22 burglary counts in Warren County were back in court after a judge ruled their constitutional rights were not fully observed in earlier proceedings. Frederick Carter and John Willis, previously sentenced to two to four years in a state facility, faced re arraignment. William Johnson, who served part of a shorter sentence, also appeared.
