GOP seeks to cut insurance commissions to state fund

Harrisburg reports Republicans in the Pennsylvania House study three bills to transfer commissions from state insurance policies into the general fund. The brokers now receive payouts though the state acts as its own broker, with about 234,500 dollars kicked back since 1959. Supporters argue the money would boost state revenues, while one bill aims to dedicate commissions to educational uses. Rep. H Jack Seltzer leads the drive, with Rep. Heffner weighing earmarking for schools.
