Guardless Bridge Closed To Buses
The Public Utility Commission ordered closure of the 10th Street bridge linking Beaver Falls and New Brighton to two bus lines after Beaver County officials failed to post guards enforcing a seven ton weight limit. State troopers will patrol pending further action as Rochester Transit Co. and Beaver Valley Motor Coach faced a 12 ton one-at-a-time allowance with guard presence. Also noted is Britain’s launch of the HMS Wilton, a 163 foot plastic warship.
