State funds cuts won't hit Corry
Garry School District business manager 8. E. Anderson said a plan to defer 25 million dollars in school subsidies would not affect Corry immediately but could embarrass smaller districts. Dr. Ralph Swan of the Department of Public Instruction called the plan lightly impactful and noted districts could borrow to meet payrolls as state reimbursements lag. The administration proposed reducing current biennium appropriations from 348 to 323 million dollars to ease a nearly 80 million dollar deficit, with restoration after June 1.
