Kathryn Anne Thornton 21 of Cleveland attempted to rescue her escort Robert Appleton 21 from a burning car after it overturned on Route A1 in Lake County. Both occupants perished. Thornton died at Huron Road Hospital hours later.

McKean county grand jury indicts Raymond Carroll, 41, of Corry, for manslaughter in the death of John Larson, 82, Bradford. Larson died after injuries from a blow allegedly struck by Carroll last fall. Corry man previously imprisoned for assault. Extradition papers being prepared to send Carroll from Buffalo via state governors.

Ernest Fiscus, 30, of Warren and a United Refining Company employee for about four years, fell from a 12 foot scaffold during a toppling incident at the Seneca Unit in Warren. He died instantly. a coroner’s report cites a broken week as the cause. His body was taken to Peterson funeral home for services. He is survived by his wife and three daughters.
John Co McMahon of Ol Gill retires after forty two years with the Pennsylvania Railroad. A Corry native born March 1 1876 he served in the Spanish American War and became a well known PRR engine man in this district. His career started in Corry then Frank Blair grocery firm Ajax Cost Corry and later Standard Oil in Sistersville. Continued on Page Five.
Former King Alfonso XII I of Spain was buried in Rome's Spanish National Church Monferrato after brief services attended by his sons Prince Juan Prince Jaime and son in law Prince Torlania.
