Kennedy Plan Won't Create Jobs Says Kennedy Plan Won't Create Jobs
Washington AP says the U S Chamber of Commerce rejects President Kennedy's program for chronically low mood areas, arguing it will not create jobs and may worsen inequities and discrimination. Connecticut Light and Power executive Robert P Lee testifies for the chamber in a House Banking Committee briefing on a 3.5 million proposal focused on loans for factories and facilities in high unemployment areas. Lee contends industrial construction cannot solve chronic distress and warns the bill could shift jobs rather than create them, challenging the pursuit of a broad industry-incentive law.
