Peninsula seeks 476000 in state and federal funds
In Erie on March 1 officials requested a total of 476 400 for Peninsula repairs and harbor protection. The Commonwealth would contribute 139 000 and the federal government about 397 500. Assemblyman Delbert Dalrymple plans to sponsor a roughly 150 000 state appropriation after meeting with U S engineers. The plan, developed by U S engineers and approved by the Buffalo office, would be carried out in five parts starting this spring to improve the road and protect the harbor. Congressman R L Rodgers handles the federal side.

Wards Rejects War Labor Board’s Illegitimate Union Pressure
The War Labor Board is blamed for undermining the National Labor Relations Act by promoting a closed shop and pressuring unions to gain benefits beyond collective bargaining. Wards argues the Board’s orders force interference with employee choices, dues check-offs, and anti member discrimination, violating law and public policy. Wards recalls a costly strike by the Teamsters, stresses commitment to liberty, and asserts it will refuse illegal contracts while defending legitimate union practices.
