Delmar Taylor 26 of Meadville was bound over to Crawford County criminal court for the June 1 shooting death of Arthur Stolz 55 of Cochranton. Stolz died of a gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom and police have not yet established motive. Taylor was arrested June 4 after a minor traffic accident probe.

Names include Mrs W Reade Langhurst, Russell Shearer, Mrs Jack Foster, Otto Bacon, Mrs Arthur Goggin, Richard Rowland, Mrs Nellie Dingfelder, Mrs Amy Thompson, Mrs Lelia Cook, David Demby, and others with varied addresses. discharges include Robert Butcher, Mrs Joseph Catalfu, Michael Daniels, and more, spanning Corry R.D.1 to R.D.3 and Bear Lake to Spartansburg.
Boston AP reporting that F Lee Bailey confirms representing a group aiming to profit from 100 tons of gold buried in New Mexico. He says he contacted former Attorney General Mitchell after Watergate testimony noted by John Dean III, who quoted Mitchell about a potential government handover without prosecution. Bailey denies seeking to evade federal hoarding statutes.
Erie County Plastics Corporation promoted two employees this week and elected them to the board of directors. Thomas Lamendola, current plant comptroller, will add assistant treasurer duties, and Paul C Hoop Roche Jr., a sales engineer, becomes assistant secretary. Lamendola is Bucknell and Gannon trained with a BA in business administration and has seven years at the plant. Roche, Notre Dame BA in business administration plus a master’s from American University, joined last year. New roles are effective immediately per president Paul C Roche.
The U S dollar fell sharply on the Frankfurt and Zurich exchanges after West Germany revalued its currency by 54 percent against seven European currencies. The dollar dropped two percent in Frankfurt and nearly three percent in Zurich. it closed at 2.425 marks and 2.94 Swiss francs, while other markets were little changed. The move makes German vacations pricier for Americans but could boost U S exports and help the balance of payments. The revaluation ends a linked float regime used since March.
