Coast Guard searches for two missing men on Lake Air
Coast Guard boats a helicopter and multiple vessels from Erie Buffalo Cleveland and Detroit search Lake Air near North East Dunkirk and Canadian shore for Dennis Brack and Leslie Lockerman both 22 last seen after a wind and rain storm. The operation extended from noon yesterday and may continue four to five days until a discovery or confirmation of no survival.

PUC Sets Pre Hearing in GenTer Merger Move
The Public Utility Commission scheduled a pre hearing conference in Harrisburg on July 12 to discuss the proposed merger of General Telephone Co Erie with York Telephone and Telegraph Co and Princeton Telephone Co in Lawrence County. General Telephone would absorb the two firms. All three utilities are subsidiaries of General Telephone and Electronics Corp of New York City.
