Foreign policy is not a central issue in the 1948 campaign beyond Palestine. The GOP platform aligns with Senator Vandenberg’s stance on Europe aid, echoing support seen in the Truman Marshall program. Past campaigns also fluctuated, with wartime unity in 1944 and wary restraint in 1940, while earlier decades highlighted League of Nations debates and anti imperialism themes.
