Child Struck By Car Dies In Jamestown
Nine year old Alice J Wood died at W Ga Hospital after being struck by a southbound car near Gerry village. State Trooper H Eb Hunon said she stepped onto the pavement as the car of Robert Lundin 16 Sugar Grove Pa reached the spot. Lundin told police he was returning from a Buffalo defense plant and was accompanied by two cousins. He attempted to avoid the girl but could not.

He said 1,472 observers are on duty across 20 posts, with 165 additional observers still needed, and noted several posts have not submitted reports on volunteers.
