In Jerusalem Avil Buehmann reports Eichmann testifying that he played no part in Nazi crimes. A Red Cross visit described him as a key figure, but Eichmann insists he had no authority or function in the camps. Defense counsel pressed that he merely relayed orders from Berlin.

James St George was elected chairman of the Corry Red Cross chapter for the coming year at the year end meeting. Frank Dodd became first vice chairman and B G Bennett was named second vice chairman. Other officers include Robert Clark treasurer and Miss M Agnes Lynch secretary. St George will name a successor to the blood program chair soon. Plans for seven first aid stations around the city for parade day July 4 were announced with Red Cross volunteers from Erie Warren and Titusville to assist. Mrs Don Williams reported canteen volunteers will serve meals to workers. The meeting's guest speaker was Truman Balverud, Eastern Areas manager from Alexandria.
State plans to replace three load limited bridges on Legislative Route 25080 in Wayne and Concord townships as part of a high priority program. One span over Spencer Creek will be reinforced concrete at 33 feet wide replacing a 14 foot wooden bridge. Two crosses French Creek and South Branch French Creek will be rebuilt as concrete gaps 34 by 60 feet and 30 feet by 14 feet respectively. Funding comes from the state gasoline tax and vehicle registration and license fees with a temporary route via improved roads during construction.
New York AP report says national maritime bargaining sessions with Kennedy board had resumed with slight concessions and hope of delaying Taft-Hartley Act injunction. Cole, chairman, said progress could be possible if substantial gains were made but cautioned no firm delay. Talks adjourned at 1 30 am with more discussions planned today.
Franke Hilton, head of Meadville Industrial Commission, warned Erie County Industrial Development Corp members in Corry that Ohio could reap many benefits of the St Lawrence Seaway, urging faster Erie Pittsburgh thruway progress to counter a new Ashtabula to Cincinnati route. Paul Hi Whaley, 68, of Corry, is in satisfactory condition at Corry Memorial Hospital after being injured when his tractor tipped into a hole and trapped him between the steering wheel and the seat near Spring Creek Township. He was rushed to the hospital around 10:30 this morning with head and body injuries and a concussion.
