Police blocked a Franklin man’s car on Route 82 when a second vehicle driven by Mary Lou Lilly of Oil City struck the rear of the Franklin car. Passengers Mary Lou Lilly Donna Beatty Marian Smith and Marylyn Behr were treated for injuries at Oil City Hospital. Damages to both cars totaled about $2,100.

A family camping near Elk Creek Lake City was burned when a kerosene lamp exploded in their tent at 1 a.m. Mr and Mrs Maldron Reddick of Butler suffered facial arm and leg burns while 11 year old James and 14 month Beverly were burned lightly. The fire destroyed their tent and all possessions. They were taken to Hamot Hospital in Erie in fair condition.
