Final rites for John W. Rickers Sr. were held at 2 pm yesterday at Bracken Funeral Home with Rev. H Kenyon Leishman officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery. Bearers were Ross Feldman Charles Hubertz George Lawson Clifford Long Lloyd Stowe and Clarence Wallace. Visitors from away included Mr and Mrs T Gilbert Willis of Pittsburgh Attorney and Mrs John Rickers Jr of Buffalo NY and other relatives from Clymer Jamestown Bemis Point Fredonia Daytona Beach and Bemis Point.

Man Arrested After Bank Burglary Attempt in Mount Morris
Franklin E. Tennant, 31 of Meadville, was captured near the Pennsylvania West Virginia border and arraigned on burglary, attempted bank robbery and assault with intent to kill charges. He was remanded to Greene County jail after a guard surprised a burglary at the Mount Morris branch of the Rices Landing National Bank. a shotgun shot was fired but no money was taken.

Residents rally for 1969 Corry Cancer Crusade despite rain
In Corry Pennsylvania on June 23 1969 the Up with People youth group collected donations for the American Cancer Society. Rainy weather delayed door to door efforts but 40 volunteers persisted with help from the Jaycettes and local coverage by the Corry Evening Journal and WOTR radio. Co chairmen Thomas Dyne and George Smith praised all volunteers and supporters as the drive aims to reach a $3500 goal before year end books close.
