Severe storm hits Spar tangled barn in fire and more local notes
A severe electrical storm struck early today with lightning razing a barn on the Abraham Force farm near Spartansboro. A special Corry club meeting set for July 1 will discuss club rooms. Local post office workers enjoyed a chicken dinner in Whiteley’s Grove with games afterward. The Veterans of Foreign Wars bugle corps will perform in Union City during Old Home Week. Corry’s Vacation Bible School closed today after sessions run by the ministerial association. The passenger station interior gets a paint coat but a new station is desired. A historical note recalls 1932 expulsion and 1936 execution over Stalin conspiracy charges. The brine shrimp are described, hatched from unfertilized eggs.
