Court Rules Tax Held Lands to Be Redeemed
Erie Superior Court rules that taxpayers may redeem property sold for unpaid fees if legal title remains with the county. The decision affects 10,000 to 13,000 county owned properties valued at about 2 million dollars and could prompt appeals by county and school officials. The case centers on former owners' redemption rights and county practices in notifying buyers. The Andrews Land Co. and successors dispute the county in this Erie county-originated case. WAXNE VALLEY church notices and services follow with assignments for Miriam Foster and Cecil Akam.
