Perjury charge looming after Bell acquittals
Anthony W. Bell Jr a former Payette county detective and key witness in the Donohoe case faced anticipated arrest on perjury charges after discrepancies between his testimony in the latest trial and a prior acquittal. Bell, jailed in Buffalo on impersonation of a federal agent, implicated Bledsoe Stangoni and Carmelo Suuriale in the Donohoe slaying, with Suuriale still at large. The Donohoe jury reached an eight to four acquittal after twelve hours of deliberation, while Bell’s perjury case will send him back to federal authorities for a three year impersonation sentence.
