Rumors Denied as Fire Team Escapes Injury in Columbus Run

Chief Parison defends city fire department after reports claim injuries. The run lasted about twenty five minutes with Driver Chasy guiding the team and Columbus volunteers aiding. No horses were hurt, and nearby equipment remained ready. additional wagons from the Third Ward and Stanford Host men stood by to respond to alarms.

Union City Plant Destroyed by Fire at 3:20 A M

Fire destroyed the J Kramer Lumber Co plant at the corner of South Street and Fourth Avenue Union City. The Shreve plant nearby supplied equipment and water streams to fight the blaze. Loss estimated at 715000 with insurance partly covering. Much of the machinery for chair stout production escaped serious damage.

City Moves to License All Cars for Hire

City authorities prepared to enforce a universal license for all taxis and for-hire vehicles. The mayor and commissioners held a conference to settle license terms and fees to be paid by cab operators and others in the business.

A tidal wave wrecked the British steamer Kintuck of the Chin Mutant Navigation Company ashore in the straits between Sumatra and Java. The ship carried many native migrants and fears of numerous deaths travel with the report. details are incomplete.

Husband Confesses to Killing New Bride in Mass

In Lovell Massachusetts Mrs Cel meré Blais, four months married, was found choked in bed. Groom Bini Blais walked into a police station and said I think I murdered my wife. The bride, formerly Miss Quelotie of North Attleboro, was well known. The husband, a mill worker, will have condition noted. A house warming party had been attended the previous evening.

Departing NuBone employees bid farewell at informal supper

Mr and Mrs J P Drown longtime NuBone Company workers were honored at an informal farewell supper at Al Raeders Grill. About 45 attendees included management and office staff. Toasts praised the couple as they prepare to move from Cor TY to Cincinnati Ohio where Mr Drown will join Oeta Ohio. Roses were presented to Mrs Drown and heartfelt remarks shared best wishes for their future.
