Corry News from 1933 Reports Rain Shortfall and Local Notes
Twenty years ago Corry faced drought with little rainfall though a light shower offered no relief. Forest service trainees moved from Fort Washington to Woodward to begin reforestation work. Local topics include the Keppel Hawkins flower pot display on Mott Street, a Tower garden celebrated as beautiful, a general knowledge quiz with scores, and road surfacing on Spring Creek to West Spring Creek. Corry Public Schools posted strong attendance with 273 students never absent. Kenneth Jackson earned perfect attendance in ninth grade. Mrs. Hattie Klinger, wife of Charles Klinger, died after illness at her Corry home.
