Pleasing Recital By Mrs Shoop's Pupils

Two Boys Killed In Fatal Car Wagon Crash

A June 25 crash near Hamburg New York killed William Bell, 12, and Raymond Millick, 44, who were riding on a wagon axle. A westbound merchandise train derailed about 6 30 in Lovell station area, tearing up four hundred feet of track. A drawhead detached, cars collided with telegraph poles, causing wiring damage and track obstructions. The Woman's Christian Temperance Union met at 161 Backstray with Miss Emma Heath. New officers were elected including President Mrs. Sitferee Tree Went, Secretary Mrs. Haenet Dychayabor, and others. A delegate to Meadville institute in June 1930 was chosen. The group sent clothing and quilts to Hood sufferers in Louisiana and noted twenty worthy members visiting since January.

Plane crash at Bettis Field injures pilot in Pennsylvania

United Press report from MeKeeport Pennsylvania says one fan was injured and a second person escaped unharmed when a Johnston Sons Airplane Supply Co plane crashed on takeoff near Bettis Field en route to Dayton Ohio. Pilot Clyde Emerick, 20, suffered a skull fracture and internal injuries after being struck by the propeller during a 100 foot fall. Passenger Mr Gerber, of Johnstown, Va., remained in the wreckage but appeared unhurt.

Paris Flight Hopes Rise For Byrd Lindbergh Plans

New York reports say Commander Richard Byrd and his crew hope Atlantic weather will clear to permit a departure for Paris aboard the America to Italy.
