Falconer man jailed after public intoxication and knife duel
Charles Anderson, 41, of Falconer, was sent to Mayville county jail for 69 days on a public intoxication charge after a husband wife knife duel at his home. He had a prior 60 day sentence suspended earlier. Anderson sustained non life threatening wounds and was treated by Dr. Culver before being jailed overnight. Deputy Sheriff Edson reported the incident and Anderson was later charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication while Mrs. Anderson was not detained.

Jamestown Man Arrested For Rifle Theft
Robert Van Guilder of Jamestown, former Garland resident, held overnight on a grand larceny charge after admitting to theft of a 22 caliber rifle valued at $20 from his brother in law. He appeared at the police station voluntarily after learning of the warrant. He admitted drinking and not remembering the theft. Police believe the rifle was left in a car after he hitchhiked to town. Van Guilder faces restitution arrangements as the case proceeds.

John J. Lusey Dies After Long Illness in Corry
John J. Lusey of 16 Marlon street died early this morning at Corry Hospital after a week as a patient and three weeks of illness. A Corry native, he worked at local plants and later for General Electric in Erie before a 1935 injury while with the State Highways Department. Surviving are two sisters, four cousins, and others. Funeral services set for Monday at St Thomas Church with burial in St Thomas Cemetery.
