Corry firefighters responded to the Dale Bemis farm on the Corry-Windley Lake road at 3 am and saved a two year old barn with minor damage. Engine 3 and Emergency Trucks with 20 men battled flames spreading to the roof. the blaze was discovered by a passing motorist who woke the family. State Police will investigate as no electric service was found at the barn.

Burial of Dog At Center Methodist Cemetery Probed
Franklin State Police investigated a complaint about a small dog buried in the Center Methodist Church cemetery. The dog was said to be buried at the foot of the grave of Carl Clarence Wheeler of Stoneboro, with a Wheeler daughter alleging her sisters and brothers in law killed the animal and buried it there.
