A Westfield physician traveling to James Town was killed when his Dodge car was struck at a grade crossing by a Buffalo and Lake Erie streetcar. He left Ripley and was en route to perform an operation, dying shortly after impact. The accident occurred near West Portland as the trolley crossed, with unclear factors leading to the collision.

Witnesses describe a freight car protruding onto the sidewalk and the locomotive colliding with the car, throwing passengers hundreds of feet. United Press reports heavy German artillery on American lines in Lorraine near the frontier. Allied forces repelled a large assault with many shells, no enemy breakthroughs reported, and American troops held their ground with no confirmed enemy advances.
The Corny Nod and Gun Oni announce a Saturday practice session at their new club grounds near Lhe Journer, Smith and Marlon streets. Preparations aim to host a West trap shooting event long held in Corry, with drives donated to the club. Dupont Powder Co. has donated gold silver and bronze muttons for the Oh Timers Shoot on Decoration Day, and participants are urged to attend with friends including Indies.

Miss Thalla Les Chambers daughter of the late red Chambers was married yesterday at noon to Lieut Perry Taylor. The ceremony was performed by Rev Louis W Sherwy at the home of Dr and Mrs August C Monik in Chicago. The couple will reside in Highland Park. The groom is a Annapolis graduate and naval ordnance officer.
