Deaths of Miss Harriet Swan and Mrs Marie Wetmore
Miss Harriet M Swan 88 of 14 Brook Street died at Corry Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was Corry High School 1898’s oldest graduate, taught in local and Akron schools, later worked in Hartford Conn at Spencer Dorset Co, and retired in Corry. Survived by sister Lucy, brother John C Swan, and nieces and nephews. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery after private services. Memorials suggested to charities. Mrs Marie Wetmore 68 of Elgin died at St. Vincent’s ER Erie, born Elgin October 24 1900, lifelong resident of Elgin and Cord Township. She taught in Beaverdam Riceville and Proctorville, was a practical nurse, member of High United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. Survived by husband two sons Roger and Joseph, sisters Tressie Whitney and Ruth Keep, six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Final rites Sunday 2 pm at Elgin Church Beaverdam Cemetery interment. Eastern Star memorial at funeral home this evening.

Funeral services are scheduled Sunday at 2 p.m. at Bracken Funeral Home for Wetmore with burial in Beaverdam Cemetery. Visitation is Friday 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Corry City Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, will conduct memorial services Friday at 8 p.m. at the same funeral home.

Six Year Old Survives Four Days In Mountain Woods
In San Bernardino California a six year old boy named Matthew Zimmer survived four days alone in San Bernardino Mountain country. Found Wednesday in a snowbank he was near death but is now recovering in hospital. He recalls drinking water and eating only snow during the ordeal and is expected to remain hospitalized over the weekend.
