GHICAGG MH June 2 A wage increase of one and a half per cent was awarded to 22,500 locomotive engineers across fifty five Western railroads by an agreement signed locally. The retroactive pay covers May and was signed by Allen Tobtinton, chief engineer of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Wiremen, and W M Jeffers, General Manager of the Union Pacific town. The raise averages forty five cents a day per engineer, totaling about 4,500,000 dollars in railroad payroll.
In Toronto a noon to midnight mail robbery of $200000 occurred at Winton station as workers loaded bags onto a car bound for Chicago. Six bandits forced employees to back away, two entered the car to rifle sacks, then fled in a waiting auto. Police describe suspects and expect arrests today as the city is sealed.

Dar Rick Nelson a well known Corry resident died about 2:00 this morning after collapsing in a barn behind his East Wayne street home. He had suffered heart trouble for a year and was found by his wife. Dr W W Graham pronounced him dead. He lived near Rowe Greenhouse and is survived by his widow a daughter Lucian and two sons Frank Nelson of Clymer and Joseph Nelson of Wrightsville. Funeral Friday at Rayt Wayne Street, interment Bust Branch Cemetery.
Berlin June 20 A clash between government and opposition members of the Jugos Slaviat parliament climaxed when Paul Raditeh nephew of the Croatian leader was shot and killed and several Croatian and former party deputies were wounded in the violent incident shaping the crisis.
Rural carriers from Corry post office will attend the Bre Car ler Association annual session in Woodman hall this Saturday June 28. Officers for the coming year are to be elected and the day will include a business meeting a dinner and an entertainment program with attendees from Albion Burnsboro Wattsboro Waterford Union City and other Erie County locales.
Three youths from this city were stopped near Sherman while driving at speed around fifty miles per hour or more. Sheriff of Chautauqua County assisted by Sherman authorities, the driver was fined $15 for reckless driving. Upon arrest they allegedly hurled remarks at the justice of the peace, facing disorderly conduct charges. the driver fined $10 and two companions $15 each for abusive behavior.

The President and I spent much of our time fishing Butler said. He would not reveal Coolidge’s motives or discuss who might succeed him. Butler indicated he would withdraw his direction of committee campaign activities.
