George A Morrison a 41 year old Gerry resident pleaded guilty to two counts of embezzlement totaling 6 1240 to aid his blind nine year old son He was placed on probation for 2 years by Federal Judge John Knight in Buffalo Morrison formerly worked as an assistant cashier at the Jamestown bank. He admitted stealing 3200 in December 1948 and 2924 80 in October 1949 and later sold his home to make full restitution Sympathetic officials did not press charges locally as restitution covered the loss but federal authorities pursued the case.
