Driver escapes as car burns in Jamestown hill crash
Gilbert Laufenberger of Scandia pa escaped uninjured when a 1985 model car caught fire on the Stantane Jamestown road near the crest. The dash fire forced him to exit before the vehicle rolled into a ditch. Deputy Arthur Bayne and Frewsburg fire crews arrived too late to save the car.

Safecrackers Net 50 In Jamestown Office
Burglars broke into the Warren Construction Co. Inc. office in Jamestown on Tuesday night and stole about 50 in currency. Entry was gained through a window using tools from the company warehouse to manipulate the safe combination. The intruders also rifled desk drawers in search of valuables.

Erie Landlord Cited in Court Suit
Pittsburgh June 19 The office of the housing expeditor yesterday filed Federal District Court Suits against three western Pennsylvania landlords. Charged with failure to make refunds on retroactive rent reductions or rent overcharges were John A Felty of Greensburg Charles J Schwartz of Erie and Charles T Phillips of New Castle. Judgments of 50 were asked from Felty and Schwartz and 150 from Phillips.
