Earle had reduced emergency revenue needs by 16 million dollars and asked for a six by six committee to draft a tax program. The House Democratic majority named its members. the Senate withheld action while five Senators advised the governor of the Republican stance.

Walter Jr 24 walked into the Justice hall and confessed strangling and attacking Blanche Cousins 24 in her California street apartment. He described dinner, restraint with a stocking, and placing her on a bed before authorities arrested him on murder charges.
Police searched today for the companion of Paul Donald, 27, of Cleveland after he was shot five times at a wrecking yard following a collision that knocked Special Officer James T. Gramentine from his motorcycle.
