Air Transport Association seeks court halt to pilots seven hour work stoppage
The Air Transport Association seeks a federal court order to bar American airline pilots from a seven hour Monday work stoppage that could affect up to a million passengers across 64 nations. Federation head Forsberg says the protest, backing stronger airport security and hijack accords, is on. Pilots in several countries indicate varying participation. Swissair will suspend operations Monday, while United Air Lines and Braniff pilots plan minimal or no disruption. The UN Security Council and ICAO are urged to act on anti hijacking conventions. Waldheim expresses disappointment over the protest.
