Jamestown Man May Enter Insanity Plea in Murder Case
Jamestown June 17 The Jamestown man Hugh Fritz Gronberg faces a potential insanity plea in a first degree murder case over the death of his wife Ruth Briggs 41. In Mayville Supreme Court Justice R Poster Piper granted defense counsel a request to appoint two alienists to determine mental state. If Gronberg is deemed insane trial delays may occur and alienists testimony may be used as expert opinion on sanity at the time of the alleged murder. Ernest D Lee defense counsel moved to change to not guilty by reason of insanity. The Boston port ranks second to New York in US imports and sea trade.
