Detroit homicide detectives seek four men and a motive after seven people were shot to death and another man wounded at a narcotics center on the Near Northwest Side. Victims include three men and four women ages 18 to 27. cash found on the slain and wounded suggests robbery.
Corry Area School Joint seeks year end funds from member districts to cover last half of June and July August payrolls totaling about 229 440 dollars while bills due total 48 641 dollars with 9 900 on hand. City of Corry adds 100 000 to the kitty offsetting a tax rise as merger with Sparta Merged School District looms in July amid a Harrisburg hearing on a Senate bill delaying non consummated mergers. The jointure remains financially healthier entering next year regardless of merger outcome.
Corry School District launches action to recover delinquent back taxes on 109 properties. About $21,545 has been collected from those who paid since the plan was announced. 20 owners face personal property sales, with legal steps being prepared by Attorney Frank McKnight and district officials.

William Hammond of RD 3 Corry proposed up to two six unit buildings on North Center Street near Raymond Avenue. Neighbors opposed citing single family zoning and petitions. Zoning Board denied the proposal and also approved converting a West Pleasant Street site next to the company office into a parking lot for employees.
