Cairo June 14 The Arab Jewish truce in Palestine brought quiet for a day as UN mediator Count Folke Bernadotte moved toward negotiations. Bernadotte, now in Rhodes, planned talks with Arab leaders in Cairo and Tel Aviv but offered no word on upcoming negotiations. King Abdullah of Trans-Jordan defended the truce amid broader debates on statehood and partition, insisting the struggle against Zionism continues despite the halt in fighting.
