County Official Defends High Priced Supplies Purchase
Erie June 14 County Commissioner Elton A Blair faced questions from Mrs Helen M Schluraff over 25 cases of paper towels and cleaning soap bought at 8.75 per case for towels and 14.0 per gallon for soap though the stockroom held 16 towel cases. Blair said the order was requisitioned by the building superintendent after inspecting the stockroom, while Schluraff argued the county could have used existing supplies and bought cheaper. The purchases were from W Leroy Wilcox of Corry.
