Fourth Ward Family Routed by Flames Fire destroys Ruse home
A late night blaze on Spring Street forced Mr and Mrs Joseph Ruse and their 10 year old son from bed after high flames were spotted from blocks away. Firefighters faced low water pressure on the hill, the house gutting with an estimated 1500 loss, two thirds insured. Fire Chief Paullison noted a coal fire earlier in the kitchen may have ignited the blaze originated from a defective chimney.

Jamestown Mt Tabor lodge will send its drill team and Salonika drum corps to the city next Wednesday for a major Odd Fellows rally. A delegation from Jonathan lodge will meet them in Clymer and guide the visitors to town. About 75 to 100 Jamestown members are expected to attend and Mt Tabor will confer the first degree on Jonathan lodge candidates.
