Mr and Mrs Donald L Tanner Sr of 111 Gould street announce the engagement of their daughter Susan Lynn to Gordon Bigelow Jr The notice states the forthcoming marriage between the couple and identifies the Tanner family residence
Twenty children received the First Holy Communion at St Elizabeth's Church during the 8 15 a m Mass. A breakfast for the group and parents followed at Frank and Verna's Restaurant. Rev Cyril Kronz led the invocations. Mrs Mark Krizanik and Mrs Joseph Glaviano coordinated the event. Bride Vera Louise Schuetz wed Robert George Bowen at United Methodist Church McKean in a 2 pm ceremony with Rev W Keith Staneart officiating. The reception followed at the church hall.
Miss Cindy Buesink daughter of Mr and Mrs Clifford Buesink of 740 Wayne Street graduated today from Allegheny College Meadville as a Spanish major She belongs to Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority Governor Nelson Rockefeller spoke at commencement Cindy plans to teach Spanish this fall Also notes about alumni events and community group meetings across Corry and nearby areas including Open wedding for Jenine Loveland and Arthur Hotchkiss and various club gatherings with dates and locations.
Miss Lena Cohen received the Georgia M Meyers orchid award at the Corry High School Alumni Association Dinner and Dance for answering the roll call of classes for the class of 1903. Other prizes went to Jeffrey Gesch and Dorothy Boland. New officers and the senior class welcome were announced, with dancing after. The content also recounts a separate funeral procession for Mrs Johnson and Jacqueline Kennedy at Arlington, with family prayers and a grave visit.
A local Catholic Daughters of America court will proceed with its regular business session at 8 p.m. after the district deputy could not attend the planned installation of officers. Twelve pallbearers led by Joseph Kennedy move the flag draped casket to the grave as Archbishop Hannon leads prayers. John Glenn Jr. folds the flag and passes it to Edward Kennedy for the widow as candles glow and a band plays.
