Citizens urge City Council to act against rowdy nightlife near North Center and Frederick streets. Residents report late night disturbances, drunkenness, loitering, and threats to safety, calling for increased foot patrols and swift police response.
A woman was injured when a log fell from a westbound log truck on Route 6 about three miles west of Corry at 10:15 a.m. The car struck the log, stopping abruptly. she was hospitalized at Corry Memorial with injuries to the spine and left knee. Police seek the truck's identity as the driver fled the scene. witnesses who saw the pickup occupants comforted authorities.
In Harrisburg the Senate defeated a bill by 28 to 18 that would let Blue Shield pay chiropractors for a range of treatments and allow subscribers to opt out of chiropractic coverage with a premium reduction. Louis Coopersmith, DC, testified that the measure would enable chiropractors to receive Blue Shield payments for back and related therapies.
Corry city ownership of the old National Bank building clears the way for demolition under a downtown renewal plan. Proceeds from sale of items inside will cover the $275 demolition bill and the fire escape removal, with Labor and Industry requiring an external fire escape to be erected on the Municipal Building.

At 5 p.m. Jerrold R. Katulich 21 of 427 West Smith Street was treated at Corry Memorial Hospital for a wrist injury after a collision with a car driven by Howard Morris 65 of R.0.1 Corry. Katulich's motorcycle and Morris's car sustained $1400 and $250 damage respectively.

Senator Louis Hill urged breakdowns be analyzed to justify service quality and pricing. Senator William Duffield cited a nurse waiting two hours near a plaza and a five minute repair needing a tow.
