Mansfield hails HEW pick Elliot Richardson for Nixon

Senate Democratic Leader Mike Mansfield praised Elliot Richardson as a strong HEW appointee and said confirmation would be easy. Javits lauded the switch, noting improved White House Congress and public access, while Richardson pledged focus on past State Department work and avoided commenting on HEW’s future.
