Fire Destroys Sherman Home in Findley Lake Area
A two story dwelling west of Sherman near Findley Lake burned when an acetylene torch exploded during the torch work. Ray Swanson sustained burns to the arms and Mrs Freeman and family lost the home valued at over six thousand dollars, with contents damaged. Firefighters from Sherman and Findley Lake battled the blaze but the structure was destroyed.

Court stops preacher from using church Franklin

Jamestown Lineman Survives Fall From Damaged Platform
James Wilson a 58 year old Jamestown cable splicer for the Telephone Corporation fell twenty feet at Wades Corners when a rope suspended platform collapsed He suffered four fractured vertebrae plus head neck and body injuries but was listed in fine condition by his physician and hospital staff Wilson was a long time employee officials could not determine the cause of the platform failure The report also notes a separate statistic about disc jockeys nationwide earning 35 to 900 a week.
