Paul Allen of Youngeville was arrested on a charge of driving too fast after witnesses said his auto failed to stop at the West Pleasant street intersection on May 30. His vehicle, traveling at high speed, rammed a parked car on South Center street. A Monday hearing is scheduled on the charge.

A pilot escaped serious injury when his Aeronta plane failed to land properly at Lawrence Airport shortly before five. The undercarriage ripped off and the propeller broke. the aircraft sustained 9125 in damage, and previously incurred 885 damage in a prior similar accident. The plane is owned by Union City men Moorehead, Hammond and Blystone.
