Washington June 4 A sweeping industry control bill tied to a public works plan would be the most far reaching step in U S history toward planned industry. It would regulate production hours and aim to reduce overproduction while expanding employment through government backed financing and taxes. The measure, championed by Senator Wagner, would place the United States at the forefront of state capitalism and rely on new taxes to fund public works, with $800 million for the works program and $1.9 billion in other expenditures.
