Erie police wear name tags and city boosts urban renewal fund
Uniformed Erie city police and the Safety Director announced yesterday that all officers will wear name tags over their right chest. The move, meant to help citizens identify officers, comes as six real estate transfers were recorded in Erie County and a 66 year old Union City motorist escaped serious injury after his car overturned on Route 6. The federal government approved an 11200 grant for Franklin's Colonial Fort Plaza project, Erie’s first urban renewal program, and Corry area officials noted a hospital admission for B. Anderson. The Corry Hotel’s dining room closed temporarily and local alumni chairmen were asked to gather at Corry High School for Saturday’s alumni dinner.
