7000 Families Still Obtain Aid in Erie County
Erie County reports about 7 000 families or roughly 30 000 persons still receiving poor relief. The list declines at about 25 families weekly as heads find work. Adrian Collins, executive director of the state emergency relief board, said the decrease is slow but noticeable and applies across the state. He noted some families are added weekly, with the net drop still 25 per week locally.
